I went to an Avedon exhibit this morning at the suggestion of my only blog reader. This photo of Dorian Leigh in Helena Rubenstein’s Paris apartment in the 1950s quickly stole my heart.
I wish I could post it bigger because I stared at it for a long time–especially the delicacy of the styling of all the little objects in the photo. Beautiful perfume bottles, a powder puff, fresh flowers. Not to mention the subject herself.
PS. Actually the bottom of this photo is cropped. In real life you could even see how the rug was disheveled just so.
